In Rails 3 we have concept called as "Engine". As in Rails 4.0 vender/plugin are going to be removed, we have to use Engine's instead.
I have gone through many sites where they explain how we can create/mount new engine OR convert existing Rails App to engine.
But didn't found any link where they have explained about how to unmount Or remove engine.
can any one help me out with this??

Interview Question : Named Scope

Question : What is named_scope?

Well, just as a info, previously it was Nick Kallen’s a very popular plugin has_finder. This turned out a better alternative for excellent plugins like scope_out and scope_proxy.

Interview Question : Nuts and Bolts

Sequencing data on github

About the sequencing data I have already published 1 post.

There are still some pending tasks.
Like : Add nodes multi-select and list for sequencing like we did for table.
which I will soon try to complete.

I have uploaded the modified latest code to github:supriyassurve.
You can pull the code with below command or just visit Sequencing-Data
git@github.com:supriyassurve/Sequencing-Data.git
Well, this can be also added in other language which are using jquery. As this clearly only depends on jquery and not on the language. Just passing the parameters to update the database.

Interview Question : Database Structure

Really cool when interviewer asks you about the database structure.
As I am a ROR developer it helped me to think the way rails is designed. I mean first think of associations you will need, this will help to add the database table which will be used by an application.

So now real question was ::
There is this Admin user and he wants to dynamically add fields/ Questions to the user's form. So what will be the database structure of the application for this specific feature.

CSS Format

Arranging CSS is really important while designing.
Many people write comments which is good but just adding css selectors and classes one after another is not the solution.
there are different styles of arranging css properly.

Installing Ubuntu with Windows

Installing windows or restoring windows from CD was handy to me, but as most of the work for ROR developer becomes easy on ubuntu, I really needed it. Also didnt wanted to remove windows as I love it.

So looked at various articles for installing it with partition, but those were not much clear.
Got one link for installing ubuntu from windows.

Once you download and run it. It will calculate free space, installation space and other things which are required and will start downloading the package.

Very nice setup and documentation. Loved it.

Surrendering MTNL Broadband Connection

Surrendering MTNL broadband is a big headache as per many site and forums. But its not true.

Today I surrendered MTNL's TriB Freedom 297 plan with wireless router. Was very tensed after reading very bad comments about the procedure from various sources, which let me think that it will be a long process and will take lots of time. Also the only information I got was need to submit the hand written letter.
